HEARING AID BATTERIES

My hearing aids let me hear the conversation, so I can relax

Hearing aid batteries come in four sizes, with number and colour codes, making it easy to get the right ones for your hearing aids. The number and colour codes are: 675 (Blue), 13 (Orange), 312 (Brown), and 10 (Yellow).

Darroch Hearing will also know your battery size, and we make it easy for you to get batteries; you can or phone, email or text your order and we will post batteries directly to your home address.

Hearing Aid Battery Life

Hearing aid batteries can last from 4-14 days, depending on the size of the battery, your hearing aid model, level of hearing loss, and perhaps surprisingly, the amount of noise they have to deal with. In quiet the aids are not working hard, in noise they are, so the battery will be used up faster.

Why do hearing aid batteries lose power so quickly? Digital hearing aids have complex processors, amplifiers, microphones and speakers to ensure you get the clearest sound in the varying listening environments you are in throughout the day. All these electronic components require lots of power.

Hearing Aid Battery Storage

You do not need to remove the battery from the hearing aid when you are not using it – simply open the battery drawer to turn the aid off. Whilst in their packaging with the tab on, batteries have a shelf life of around 2 years.
